I am so grateful that you have landed here today!
I am a new yoga teacher, eager to help spread the word! In my opinion, yoga is the key to well being. You can bring yoga with you into every aspect of your life, and it correlates so well with hiking. Yoga can not only help transform your life physically, but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually as well.
Before I did my yoga teacher training at the Breathing Room in South Portland, ME, I had a completely different outlook than I do now (my first teacher training at least, there are MANY more to come!) Yoga is more than just stretching and getting fit, as depicted in the general world today.
Yoga is truly about paying attention to all of the layers within you and weeding out the things that don’t serve you – in order to connect with your higher consciousness. Yoga is about going within, and taking time for yourself.
I hope you’re still with me. Stick with it, I promise you won’t regret it!
When your bones ‘crack’, you are essentially releasing built up tension, and it feels so good!
Yes, there will be lots of ‘snaps’, ‘crackles’, and ‘pops’ from your neck, back, and all around your body while practicing asanas (poses), but tension will also be released from deeper down. Tension will also be released from areas that don’t make the the sounds of Rice Krispy Cereal.
Asanas, or postures, prepare your for meditation. They are also so helpful before and after hiking, or any physical activity, to keep the body from becoming ‘stuck.’
Is there a gateway to happiness?
We’re all on the same very earth, just trying to figure out what can make us truly happy – we are all searching for that light.
Be kind to yourself, and allow guidance from the universe. There is always light at the end of a dark tunnel.
Ying and yang. Sun and moon. Day and night.
You are the only one that can take control of your life, but you don’t have to do it alone.
There are resources galore on the inter webs! You don’t have to spend a ton of money to start shifting you life, it all starts from within. There are tons of free podcasts, videos, websites, and more to get you on the right path – for YOU And what is right for you, may not be right for everybody.
And, the great thing about hiking and yoga is – you an engage in both activities completely free of charge.

These helped get me out of darkness, and where I am today!

It doesn’t happen over night, but the more exposure to positive thinking, the better!
Awareness of your breath, movement, diet and creativity all contribute to a happier YOU.
My goal is to share what I have learned throughout my journey and invite you to walk a similar, but unique path. My ultimate goal is to help you find a pathway to happiness, and continue to keep skipping down mine!
